All the people have the right to participate in the cultural life.

In other words, States must recognize and ensure people with disabilities:

  • Have access to cultural material in accessible formats
  • Have access to television programs, movies, theater, and other cultural activities in accessible formats
  • Have access to theaters, museums, movies, libraries and touristic services and, as far as possible, have access to monuments and places of national culture importance.

Moreover, the Convention highlights the importance that persons with disabilities should create their works of art from the development and use of their own creative, artistic and intellectual potential, not only for their own benefit, but also for enrichment of society.

Valuing diversity nourishes us all!
