A fight that does not stop

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities was proclaimed in 1992 by the United Nations General Assembly resolution 47/3.

It aims at promoting rights, development and the welfare of persons with disabilities in all areas of society, as well as raising awareness of their situation in all aspects of political, social, economic, and cultural life.

This year, the theme proposed by the United Nations is “Transformative solutions for inclusive development: the role of innovation in fueling an accessible and equitable world”.

UN agencies, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and the private sector are encouraged to cooperate with entities supporting persons with disabilities to perform events and activities.

According to the UN, out of 1000 million persons with disabilities in the world, 80% live in developing countries, and it has been calculated that 46% of people over 60 years old are persons with disabilities.

Fundación Comparlante promotes the rights of persons with disabilities through care, accessibility, programs and services. We would like to invite you to know our work and to join our mission!
